Naomi was born and grew up in North London. She studied Law at University College London (UCL), graduating in 2001. She then went on to complete the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in London, passing her exams with distinction. With the aim of expanding her legal knowledge and improving her language skills, Naomi then took up a job working in the legal department of a prestigious offshore trusts company based in Liechtenstein. In 2003, Naomi, moved to Northern Cyprus where she gained employment in a large law firm in Kyrenia. This enabled her to gain invaluable experience of the legal system of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (T.R.N.C). Naomi was called to the T.R.N.C bar in 2005. In setting up Naomi Mehmet & Partners, Naomi aims to provide the T.R.N.C with its first truly professional international law firm and to use her skills and experience to offer clients in the T.R.N.C a first class legal service. Naomi is fluent in English, German and Turkish.

Legal Adviser

Debra was born and grew up in England and moved to Northern Cyprus with her family in 2007. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives and a Commissioner for Oaths having qualified in the United Kingdom. A Legal Executive is legally trained and must have completed at least 8 years of employment with a solicitor and must have passed the Institute's qualifying examinations. These examinations lay particular emphasis upon the practical as well as academic aspects of legal work, and the final fellowship examinations are recognised by the English Law Society as earning exemptions from equivalent papers in the qualifying examinations for solicitors. Debra has twenty years of experience in Property Law, Conveyancing, Probate and Succession and Will writing.

Sila is of Turkish Cypriot origin. She graduated in 2003 with a bachelor degree in Law from the University of Marmara, Turkey, and then went on to complete her Masters degree in Law specialising in Patent Law. Sila completed her practical training in Istanbul and was called to the Istanbul Bar where she is still a registered member. She then worked for a period of two years with a well known law firm in Istanbul before returning to her native Cyprus and commencing work with a local firm in Kryenia. In 2005 she was called to the TRNC bar. Sila joined Naomi Mehmet & Partners in 2008 to head our Litigation and Dispute Resolutions Department. Sila has extensive experience in all kinds of litigation cases, including banking and debt claims, property related disputes and family matters and she speaks Turkish and English.

Aksana Vitushka LL.B. LL.M.
Legal Adviser

Aksana graduated in 2004 from the Belarusian State Economic University with a degree in Law, obtaining the highest grades in all of her examinations. She worked for some time as a junior lawyer with the firm of Jurist Consult in Minsk, Belarus. She then completed her internship at the High Court of Minsk, Belarus before spending some time working as a Research Assistant at the Ministry of Justice in Belarus. Finally, she went on to complete her Masters degree in law (LL.M.) at the Girne American University in Cyprus graduating in 2007. Aksana provides legal advice and assistance in property related matters. Aksana is fluent in Russian, Belorussian, English and Turkish.
